This research guide provides a set of templates for conducting a sectoral overview or background paper. The guide should be used to inform fieldwork investigating interaction in skills development systems, and the capabilities of education and training organisations to form effective partnerships and learn through interaction – i.e. interactive capabilities. It should be read in conjunction with a set of templates guiding research in universities, TVET colleges, firms and intermediaries such as the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).
